About the Homemaker & Companion Role
As a Homemaker & Companion, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients by:

Providing companionship and emotional support.

Assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning.

Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for clients.

Supporting clients with daily routines to enhance their quality of life.

Job Description
Responsibilities
-
Follow the Service Plan to meet clients’ non-medical needs, including companionship and assistance with daily living activities.

Perform light housekeeping (laundry, linen service, cleaning).
-
Prepare and serve meals/snacks per dietary recommendations.
-
Assist with shopping and errands, including groceries and clothing.
-
Provide incidental transportation (appointments, social visits, shopping).
-
Support and plan recreational activities and events.
-
Remind clients to take medications.
-
Stay with the client during shifts, report incidents, and act in emergencies.
-
Document and report client condition changes to the Lead Client Care Coordinator.

Record services provided according to company policies.
-
Use the time management system for clock-in/out procedures.

Adhere to HIPAA regulations and participate in quality reviews as needed.

Stay updated on relevant technology and support company policies.
Qualifications
-
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience or equivalent. Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking with attention to dietary needs. Strong interpersonal skills.

Certifications: State-required certifications (if applicable). Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and clean driving record.

Language Skills: Ability to understand instructions, communicate effectively, and present information in small group settings.

Reasoning Abilities: Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Frequent use of hands, talking, hearing, standing, and walking.

Work may involve exposure to illness/body fluids in clients’ homes or moderate noise environments.
